Activity: Department of Hematology and Oncology care of children with solid tumors in children, leukemia and lymphoma, and other hematologic diseases. Activities performed by stationary treatment in the department, through the living and hospital hematology and oncology clinic. Treatment of patients with malignant diseases is carried out in the form of chemotherapy according to internationally recognized treatment protocols in close collaboration with pediatricians, other subspecialties, pediatric surgeons, neurosurgeons, radiotherapists, anesthesiologists, radiologists, pathologists, cytologists, cytogeneticist, physiologists, psychologists, therapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists and school teachers. Was introduced and the latest therapeutic technique of transplantation of stem cells from high with chemotherapy, which is used in the treatment of an increasing number of malignancies. The diagnostic work carried out at the Department includes fine needle aspiration biopsy of tumor formation, bone marrow puncture and ultrasound diagnostics. In 1999, the Department has declared Referral Center of the Ministry of Health and Welfare for solid tumors in children. In early 2008, a rehabilitation center for psychosocial support to children suffering from malignant diseases and their families. The Center employed psychologist, occupational therapist and nurse. If necessary, treatment can include rehabilitators and pathologists. With sick children and their roditeljimaradi individually and in groups. Psychological assessment, treatment and counseling are provided to children who are in the course of treatment, but also children who were cured of malignant diseases (and their families)

University Hospital for Tumors, Zagreb was founded in 1968 under the name Central Institute for Tumors and Allied Diseases as the materialization of ideas prof. dr. sc. John Padovan. The Institute was established by the organization in collaboration with the Milan National Cancer Institute (now the European Institute of tumors), led by prof. PhD Umberto Veronesijem. 1993 Institute for Tumors and Allied Diseases becomes Clinic for tumors, and since 2010, the University Hospital for Tumors attaches Clinical Hospital Center Sisters of Mercy. 

Clinic for tumors continuously monitors and implements new ways of treating cancer as part of a multidisciplinary approach that provides the best results in the treatment of cancer patients. 

The present organization of the Clinic for tumors, there are two departments: Department of Surgical Oncology and Department of radiotherapy and oncology, as well as the Division of Clinical Chemistry, Diagnostic and interventional radiology, pathology, cytology, anesthesia and resuscitation, Blood Transfusion and hemostasis, Fizikalnemedicine and rehabilitation and Pharmacy . 

At the University Hospital for Tumors, a series of research projects, and some staff participates in scientific and educational activity as a regular title or lecturers. 

The clinic issued oncology journal Libri oncologici indexed in EMBASE / Excerpta Medica.
